FAQ
Prices, deposits, timings and what happens if it rains. Answered plainly.
If what you need is not here, just ask — message me on WhatsApp or email and I will answer properly rather than sending you a brochure.
01 — Booking
Message me on WhatsApp with your date. That is the fastest route and I usually answer the same day, often within a couple of hours.
A 30% non-refundable deposit confirms it. For Sri Lankan weddings the remaining 70% is due seven days before the day. For traveller sessions a 30% deposit also holds the date.
For weddings, one free postponement is included with at least 60 days’ notice. For traveller sessions, one free reschedule within your stay is included and the deposit carries over in full.
Sri Lankan wedding season dates go early, so as soon as you have a date is sensible. Traveller sessions are different — a few days’ notice is often enough, so it is always worth asking even at short notice.
02 — Price
Collections start at LKR 125,000 for Essentials, LKR 195,000 for Signature — the one most couples book — and LKR 355,000 for Cinematic, which covers three days including the homecoming. A wedding day on its own is LKR 105,000 and a pre-shoot alone is LKR 45,000.
Traveller sessions are priced in dollars. Golden Hour is USD 180 for 45 minutes and 30 images, Holiday Story USD 280 for 90 minutes and 60 images, and Island Day USD 480 for up to four hours and 120 images.
From USD 290 for The Moment, which covers a planning call, spot scouting, hidden coverage and 40 edited images. The Story is USD 420 and The Full Experience USD 650 plus setup at cost.
Kandy and Kurunegala are included in every wedding collection. Between 100 and 150 km is LKR 15,000 and beyond that is quoted. For traveller sessions the Kandy area is included, up to 150 km is USD 50, and beyond 150 km is quoted.
No. Everything is written out on the packages page before you commit — what is included, how many images, which album, and what travel costs. Add-ons like extra time or a drone are listed there too, and only apply if you ask for them.
03 — The day itself
Every wedding collection covers the full day. I usually arrive while you are getting ready and stay through the dancing. There is no hour limit to watch and no overtime charge at the end of the night.
Yes. The poruwa, the jayamangala gatha, the oil lamp, the nalalpata. Eight years of Kandyan ceremonies means I know where to stand so I am never in the way of the family or the nilame.
Almost nobody is, and I do not expect you to be. There are no poses to hold. I give gentle direction and then wait. About twenty minutes in, people forget I am there — that is when the photographs start.
No, stills only, so I can stay fully present rather than splitting my attention. I am happy to recommend a videographer whose style sits well with mine.
For traveller sessions we agree a backup time or spot in advance. For weddings we work with what the day gives us — some of the best photographs I have taken happened under umbrellas.
04 — Afterwards
Previews of about 30 images reach you within 48 hours. Full wedding galleries are ready within three weeks; traveller sessions within two weeks, online, with full download access.
A private online gallery with a link you can share with family. Full-resolution downloads are included, so you are not buying your own photographs back one at a time.
Yes. Print and share freely for personal use. Albums and framed prints are included in most collections if you would rather I handled it.
I may want to show a few in my portfolio or on Instagram. Tell me if you would rather I did not and I will not — that stands at any point, even years later. For proposals, nothing goes anywhere until you have both agreed.
