I'm Yehen Fernando, a couple photographer based in Kandy, Sri Lanka, photographing honeymoons, anniversaries and holiday sessions across the island — Sigiriya, Ella, Galle, Nuwara Eliya and the hill country around Kandy. Sessions start at USD 180 for 45 minutes and run to USD 480 for a half-day. Sneak peeks reach you within 48 hours and the full gallery within two weeks, so you will have them before the tan fades.
Every session includes
Planned before you land, so the day itself is easy.
Before you fly. Where the light will be, what time to wake, which corner of the island actually suits the two of you.
No poses to hold. Walk, talk, ignore me. I will tell you when to turn and otherwise stay out of it.
Enough to send home while you are still here, and still slightly sunburnt.

Sunrise at the rock
Pidurangala at sunrise is worth the alarm. We climb in the dark, the light arrives over Sigiriya, and for about forty minutes the whole plain is gold and almost empty. Sunrise shoots outside Kandy need an overnight stay nearby, which you arrange.

Galle Fort's ramparts at dusk, the old shopfronts and painted walls, the tea terraces above Ella. A photograph that could have been taken anywhere is a waste of being here — the place should be as recognisable as the two of you.

Golden Hour is USD 180 for 45 minutes and 30 edited images. Holiday Story, the one most couples choose, is USD 280 for 90 minutes and 60 images. Island Day is USD 480 for up to four hours and 120 images. The Kandy area is included; up to 150 km is USD 50.
Usually yes, and often a few days is enough. Message me with your dates and where you will be staying and I will tell you straight away whether I am free. A 30% deposit holds the date.
It depends where you are and what time you can be awake. Sigiriya and Pidurangala at sunrise, the tea country around Ella and Nuwara Eliya, the Galle Fort ramparts at dusk, or the lake and temple streets in Kandy. We agree it on a call before you fly.
Nobody is, and I do not expect you to be. There are no poses to hold. I give gentle direction — walk there, talk to each other, ignore me — and then I wait. About twenty minutes in, people forget I am there. That is when the photographs start.
Sneak peeks within 48 hours, so you can share them while you are still on the island. The full edited gallery follows within two weeks, online, with full download access wherever you live.
