Locations — Galle
Galle Fort is the one place in Sri Lanka that photographs like a European old town and a tropical port at once — coral-stone walls, Dutch shutters, bougainvillea, and the sea on three sides.

I'm Yehen Fernando, a wedding and couple photographer based in Kandy. I shoot couple sessions, surprise proposals and pre-shoots in Galle and across Sri Lanka. Traveller sessions start at USD 180; wedding collections at LKR 125,000. Travel to Galle: Quoted — Galle is beyond the 150 km band from Kandy.
Where to shoot
And roughly when each of them works.
The walk from the lighthouse round to Flag Rock. Open sky, the sea below, and the best dusk light in the country.
The hour before sunset
Pedlar Street and the lanes off it — shutters, faded paintwork, deep doorways. Shade all day, which makes them useful when the ramparts are too bright.
Any time
White against blue, and a reliable anchor for a wide frame. Gets busy; we work around it.
Early morning or dusk
After the sun has gone and everyone has left. The light lasts about twenty minutes and it is worth staying for.
Just after sunset

Galle
The streets and ramparts, yes. Individual hotels, museums and private courtyards have their own rules and some charge — tell me where you are staying and I will check in advance.
If you are already heading south, absolutely. As a day trip from Kandy on its own it is a long drive for an hour of good light — better to build it into where you are already going.

Send me your dates and where you're staying. I'll come straight back about whether I'm free.
